Reflections of the Past

Suffocating in the memory
choking on the atmosphere
drowning in the crowd

I can feel your arms around my waist,
your lips upon my neck
your breath tingling my skin
as you whisper words of love.

I swore you’d never hurt me
you promised you never would.
The lies had clouded my judgement.

Get out of my head
get out of my mind
get out of my heart.

Leave me at the pearly gates,
to fall to my death.

I hate you.
I love you.
You killed me.
Come save me.
